Random Thoughts
Yes, I think thoughts on occasion. These are a few of them. Obama lies very well. I'm more scared by the hypnotized pod-people love for Obama than Obama himself.

Also, DME Supply Group now carries Pediatric Walkers and Rollers.
Obama repeals Bush's draconian limitations on stem cell research. Never mind that he was the first president who ever provided for any federal funding of any kind of stem cell research. That Obama is only expanding Bush's program in this regard. We live in a crazy world. Tell you what.

It's referred to in new stories, repeatedly, as the "Bush Ban". The fact there was no federal funding of stem cell research before Bush is not referred to as "the Clinton Ban" or the "Democrat Ban". Of course not. Not that I'm objecting. I think it's fine. Double-plus-good, that's what it is. Double-plus-good.

And that's only the tip of that iceberg. Obama is also making sure that the faith-based tennets of the First Church of Global Warming get treated as Holy Writ for the determination of future science policy (re: tax policy, and government-control-over-private-businesses-and-citizens policy). And the people loved it. I hate the comparison of any popular ideologue to Hitler--Obama is no more Hitler than Reagan or Bush were Hitler--but I understand why people do it. When you see the people so eager to support an ideology that seems bent on destroying their freedoms, disregarding the truth, sacrificing real life and liberty on the altar of abstract ideals of fairness--well, when you see how exicted the people are about the redaction of actual history and the "re-purposing" of facts for "the greater good" . . . well, comparisons to a Jim Jones or a Hitler spring to mind. Are these comparisons fair to Obama? Certainly not. Are the comparisons fair to his devoted followers in the media and the Democrat party? Um, yeah, sometimes it sure seems like it.

Obama is not Clinton. Clinton was not that bad of a president. The Federal Budget was well-managed in the Clinton years. Things like Welfare Reform--which worked as advertised, and Obama now wants to dismantle--happened under Clinton. May not have been his idea, exactly, but they did happen. NAFTA--which is a good idea, and has been mostly positive--was championed by Clinton. He advanced a few uber-liberal strategies and, despite his reputation as a liar, he was actually pretty straight-up about Health Care Reform and Gays in the Military. Conservatives can complain about secret task forces for Hillarycare, but, the fact is, what they were trying to do was clear enough. So, they said, we're doing this, and they could be fought on those grounds.

That isn't Obama. Obama says one market-tested thing while doing the exact opposite. Calling the massive increase in our national debt that's going to fund pork projects and re-elect Democrats an "economic stimulus" is simply a lie. It's not remotely an accurate description, and they pretty much have to know that just funding more pork projects than ever is not going to "stimulate" the economy in any serious way.

More than that, while authoring the most irresponsible government spending in the history of our nation, and promising to do it again real soon, the Obama administration is talking about "fiscal responsiblity" and "cutting costs" and "getting rid of earmarks". Really?

But, when he says it, the people--and especially the press--stand up and cheer.

Bush made a lot of mistakes. He didn't deserve a free ride. Some of his worst sins--going easy on Fannie Mae, not wanting to ruffle Chris Dodd's and Barney Frank's feathers--don't get much attention. But there was also the War in Iraq, Weapons of Mass Destruction, massive spending increases, the Scooter Libby witch hunt and how they handled a lot of things. But you know what? He didn't get a free ride. In fact, he was overcharged. Quite a bit.

Obama is getting a free ride. And that's the scary part. Obama is kind of a socialist. Kind of a leftist. Very liberal--just look at his voting record. He's going to do what liberals do. I get that.

But when he says he's not doing something he is obviously right in the middle of doing, and the press just says, "Sure, whatever you say! You're cutting spending! This is an economic stimulus! Right, right, wink-wink, nudge-nudge!" . . . well, that's worrisome.

I'm getting old. I can hope for better times, and better leadership, in the future. But knowing that the press and a rapidly expanding class of people who do not want to do for themselves, but want the government to take from me and you, in order to live their sedentary, non-productive lives . . . knowing that these impressive forces are going to be arrayed against any positive change, any positive leadership, now and in the future, is depressing. And knowing those folks will champion class envy and wealth redistribution and turn the conservative devotion to rational thought and historical fact into modern heresies . . . well, seriously, why bother? Just try to make a living, and do your best to hide with the Wealth Redistribution Sentinels start patroling the streets, looking for signs of risk-taking or entrepreneurship.

That's it for now. I have more random thoughts but they just get more depressing. So let's stop for now.

BTW, if you want some Mefix Dressing Fixation Fabric Tape, you can get it at JRS Medical.

You can also get that at DME. But if you want the Large Pad Rotary Orbital Massager, you can only get that from DME. Seriously.

Want to talk gravitas now? Even arch-liberal Dana Milbank sees that Obama is more pop-culture than presidential.

Seriously, they are. Which is a good thing. Using a modern secular myth to justify looting the private sector and punishing the tax payer is reprehensible, and the more people who wake up to the same, the better.
Obama/Axelrod Smear Palin, Attempt Fake Grassroots Campaign  link added 09/22/08   by Kevin Willis
The Jawa Report has a breakdown on how Axelrod and the Obama campaign are trying to make fake grassroots campaigns to smear Sarah Palin, while, at the same time, leaving a trail of smoking guns everywhere. No wonder the left like's to tell us they are the smartest and most ethical folks out there!
Charlie Gibson Prejudiced Against Palin, JOFI  link added 09/13/08   by Kevin Willis
The Journal of Feminist Insight blog has a breakdown of softballs Charlie Gibson tossed Obama vs. the prosecutorial nature of his questions for Palin. Pretty damning stuff, indeed. For Obama: How does it feel to win? For Palin: Do you have enough qualifications for the job your seeking? And on and on and on. Not classy, Charlie.
The Politics of Blood from First Things.  link added 09/03/08   by Kevin Willis
Apparently to folks of the left, the ends will always justify the means. Ruin people, lie, cheat, steal, anything short of murder (and, hmm, who knows, maybe that, too) is okay if it means you get universal healthcare and progressive taxation. Learning that, on the left, the end always justifies the means is why I'm not a liberal today.
